Quite a sight, don’t ya think? That right there is the Tara River Canyon (Kanjon Tare) and the Tara River Bridge, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durmitor National Park in Montenegro.
We drove through here on our way to Zlatibor, Serbia, a week ago. Driving through Montenegro is like a lesson in how varied the landscape of a nation can be – especially a nation this small. Even the different mountainous areas are distinct in their look and feel.
Beauty is nearly over-abundant, and we often find ourselves constantly jerking our necks in order to keep up with the jaw-dropping and always-interesting things to see in this land. I can certainly guarantee you that, unless you’ve lived here for a very long time, you will never find yourself dozing off during a long car ride.
