Nashville, Tennessee

Welcome to Nashville! We recently went back to the Music City for a couple of days, after not having been there for several years. It’s always a great place to stop for a bit, even though it can get insanely crowded in the summer due to all of its tourist attractions, music industry, and more.

That said, enjoy some pictures of our stay in this fun and inspiring city. Yee-haw!

There’s always a lot to see in Nashville, but we prefer to stay in the West End near Vanderbilt University, as it’s got the massive Centennial Park and is easily walkable.

We’ve maxed all kinds of BBQ in Nashville before, so we explored some other options during our brief stay. Including the above Indian food, we got most of our nourishment at breweries. Not just with their beer! A lot of them serve some great food, too.

As you know, we do a lot of craft brewery visits for our minds, bodies, and souls, but also for our Hopsmash project. All of them were really damn good, and we recommend you stop by each one of these!

Bearded Iris Brewing, which has a ridiculous selection of IPAs and had some live art going on by super-talented local artist and all-around fun guy Stephen Watkins. Shouts to Stephen as well as Anna at the bar!

And while we love all of these breweries – seriously, they’re all great and we’ll go back to all of them! – our top pick on this trip was New Heights Brewing Co...many thanks to Josh, Isaac, and Nate!

With, naturally in Nashville, some live music to keep the party going.

Don’t worry, we didn’t only go to breweries. Just mostly. Haha. Have some coffee at Three Brothers Coffee!

It’s also next door and connected to Cumberland Transit, where you can scoop up some of the best outdoor brands. No pix, but we picked up a new Patagonia backpack to replace our old and worn-down Eastpak.

Nashville has a bustling downtown with a whole lot to see and do, but we just mostly walked around in the sweltering heat.

And lastly, one of our favorite places to visit in Nashville: Hatch Show Print! This historic letterpress shop is home to some of the most important and iconic design of posters and music ads ever. It used to be located in a smaller shop by itself, but has since located to the Hall of Fame building. It now houses a much larger printing space as well as a huge gift shop, as well as a separate art gallery.
