Hey folks! Greetings from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where we’ve just landed after being on the road for three days. This is more of a Public Service Announcement than anything else, so check it out…
In case you don’t do the whole social media thing, or at least don’t follow us on our social media pages, we’re here to let you know all of that info. We’re posting pictures, info, and little blurbs every day while we’re on the road, so you can keep up with us on a regular basis and see more updates about what’s going on.
On the blog, we generally only post articles, so you could be missing out on all kinds of goodness. And who wants to miss out on all kinds of goodness? Not you!
So then, here are links to all of our social media pages. The first three are updated multiple times per day with pictures from the road, among other things. Join us where you can, and let your friends know they can join us, too.
We were going to use a mapping program as well, but most of them are a bit buggy or not very good. (Got recommendations? Let us know in the comments!) So, we’ve scrapped that for the time being.
However…if you use the Instagram app on your iOS or Android device, you can see all of our photos on a map by clicking the little pin button on our profile.
So again, that’s Facebook…
and Twitter…
If you have any recommendations of places we should go, people with whom we should speak for a “Fabric of America” spotlight, or you just want to get a cup of coffee or share a beer, feel free to leave a comment below or contact us directly. See you on the road!
Want more? Join us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Flickr, and Google+.
Questions or comments? Let us know, down below!
You know me…plugged in to all the channels. Except for the evil Instagram. Which I’m still not on. Or Pinterest. Grrr.
Rock out!
Indeed! We kept away from Instagram for a long time – probably for the same reasons as you. But we wanted an app that allowed us to easily post photos and map them, and all of the mapping travel apps are average at best.
The good thing is that you can have Instagram share to all of your other social media pages. So, our Instagram posts go to Facebook, and since we have Facebook linked to Twitter, they get auto-pushed there as well. Easy peasy.
Thanks for swinging through!
I haven’t tackled all of that yet, just Facebook, but I’m willing to learn. Will what’s on instagram and twitter be any different than what’s on Facebook?
Heyo! You can go to the Facebook page – http://facebook.com/jetsliketaxis – and to the below-right of the main photo, you’ll see a little gears button. Click that and choose “Add to Interest Lists.” That is now the only way to ensure you see every update in your own feed without having to go to our page.
You can thank Facebook for only showing you about 10% of our posts in your own news feed. They did that a short while back in order to force pages to advertise. Classy, right? Otherwise, you can just go to the aforementioned URL and you will always see 100% of the updates there.
There are actually more posts on Facebook and Twitter because we share other people’s work there, too. Instagram only shows photos we share on Instagram. But, all Instagram posts *also* show up on Facebook and Twitter.
Get all that? Haha…such a hassle, I know. Basically, you’re best off with Facebook.
Thanks for stopping by!
So now I’m following you ;)

Great, thanks! You have been followed on all three.
Just found your site thru Anywhereists Mish and Rob. We, my hubby Bill and I, are traveling the US, too and you must have traveled right by us in SD. We are currently in Interioir, SD in the Badlands. It truly is a small world. We just started on the website, blog and building our web presence and are still basically clueless but having a blast anyway. Safe travels!
Hey! Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to Mish and Rob for sending you our way. We did indeed just miss you…we were in Interior last week. If you get this before you leave, be sure to head west on Highway 44 and stop in Scenic. It’s a mostly ghost town with 4 residents. The guy who runs it – the church bought the town – isn’t all that nice, but it’s a great place to see. Just don’t go past any No Trespassing signs. They’re not from forty years ago, apparently. :)
Have a blast on your trip, and best wishes on your blog and web presence. Please let us know when your site is up (I presume it’s not just yet) so we can follow along with you!
We’ve driven by there plenty of times, but haven’t stopped…we will now though. Thanks for the cautionary on the no trespassing signs! Will be sure to keep in the loop with you…it’s good to know others are out here doing what we do! Safe travels.
You’ve gotta stop there before the church or whatever does whatever they’re going to do to it. It’s basically a ghost town right now…the good kind that hasn’t been preserved or turned into a Keystone.
And there are lots of us out there, you are not alone…see you on the road!
