Welcome to Cabo de São Vicente! That’s Cape St. Vincent in English, at the end of the world in southwestern Portugal. We already wrote a bit about this fascinating place in another post here, but we revisited with my parents earlier this year and we thought we’d share some more photos.
Before we arrived, though, we ran into this shepherd and his flock.
What’s up, sheeplets!
Upon our arrival, it was quite chilly and windy here at the end of the Earth. Brrrrr.
We still managed to mill around in the wind and check out the lighthouse and take in the glorious views.
But, I really just wanted to share this adorable photo of my loving parents. :)
Shooting me shooting the lighthouse, with my mom in the background not digging how close to the edge I got. All good, Ma!
If you’re traveling in the Algarve, Cape St. Vincent is definitely worth a visit. You won’t be there long, but it’s really important as an historical site as well as a place with insane views. On top of that, I personally recommend just sitting there and imagining what it was like here – and out in the ocean – over the past few centuries. Must have been a sight to see!
Be sure to check out our other Portugal posts right here.
A very special and very big thanks to all the fine folks in Sagres and Cabo de São Vicente, and to my folks for coming to visit!
