There’s always tons to see in Portugal, and the southern region of the Algarve is no exception. This long and beautiful coastline is a major destination for foreigners and Portuguese alike, and features some of the world’s most gorgeous beaches.
The village of Burgau – near Lagos – is no exception. We traveled here for a short visit while my parents were over and we were staying in Lagos. It was pretty deserted at this particular time of year, so we mostly had the whole place to ourselves.
We spent some time wandering around the small town, but most of it walking along the fine sand beach surrounded by cliffs on all sides. It’s a glorious sight, and one we highly recommend!
Enjoy some photos of our time in Burgau.
Nearly all ours! :)
What’s up, lil’ dude?!
Quite a nice stop! Burgau is one of those villages where you can just walk around forever, even though it’s very tiny. It’s got all one could ask for in a quaint village here in the Algarve. And, while it certainly gets packed in high season, it’s still a treat to experience.
Be sure to check out our other Portugal posts right here.
A very special and very big thanks to all the fine folks in Burgau, and to my folks for coming to visit!
